Obama in Buffalo

Obama in Buffalo

Spree writer/photographer Nancy J. Parisi was at the airport when the leader of the free world stopped in Buffalo for a few hours this afternoon, and she got a few nice shots of the prez during the first moments of his arrival.

For the last week, we've all been speculating about what he would do, whom he would meet, and (especially) where he would eat when he arrived. The president was only here for a few hours, but he did manage to stop at Duff's for an order of wings, and give a serious speech at Industrial Support, Inc, a manufacturer on Buffalo's East Side. The talk was only a half hour or so, but he was able to discuss the economic recovery, tax reform, high speed rail, and health reform during the course of his address and the questions that followed.

I think it lifted (almost) everyone's spirits that Obama took the time to come here as part of his Main Street tour of cities across the U.S. He was realistic, but upbeat. We could all use some upbeat right now. And maybe some Duff's as well.
