"Wimpy Kids" take Buffalo
Kids love Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I mean, they really, really love author Jeff Kinney’s book series, and last year’s film did well, too.
So it’s very cool news that today, at 5 p.m., the cast of the sequel Diary of a Wimp Kid: Rodrick Rules will attend a red carpet premiere screening at Tapesry Charter School on Great Arrow Avenue in Buffalo. Even cooler, it came about after Tapestry won a contest sponsored by 20th Century Fox and Parade magazine. Kathy Jarvis, mother of Tapestry third grader Annie Jarvis, submitted the winning entry, one of nearly 20,000.
“We're all incredibly excited to be premiering Rodrick Rules at Tapestry Charter School,” says Kinney. “We can't think of a better setting for the film to make its debut. Everyone involved with the film worked very hard, and it will be enormously gratifying to see how a real audience of kids responds.”
Cheers to the kids at Tapestry for making it happen. It’s not often a film premieres in the Queen City—especially in a school gym.
(Thanks to our friends at Allied Integrated Marketing for the tip-off.)
