Athena Awards calls for nominations

Is there a woman you think deserves recognition for her commitment to bettering our community? Here’s your chance! The 22nd Annual Athena Leadership Award, which celebrates women in our community who have worked to advance the status of women in the Buffalo Niagara region, is currently accepting nominees. Once the nominations are in, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership will host its award luncheon at the Buffalo Niagara Marriot on November 4.

For 22 years, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, which is made up of companies like Rich products and First Niagara, has celebrated the professional achievements of women in our region. Each year, voters nominate women for the Athena Leadership Award and the Athena Young Professional Award. Last year, Sister Denise Roche, the President of D’Youville College won the leadership award, while Amy Schmit of the University at Buffalo Center for Excellence won the Young Professional Award.

If you are interested in voting you can click here: http://www.thepartnership.org/Connections/Athena to download a nomination form for either the Leadership Award or the Young Professional Award.
