Trust events open to the public
Just because you're not attending the conference doesn't mean you shouldn't soak up a little of our hometown history. There are several tours and events happening during the week that are open to the general public. Take advantage of this opportunity. It's not every day that Buffalo plants a red carpet.
Thursday, October 20, 6:30-10p.m.
In a truly unique event, the following venues will be open to the public with just one ticket: the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society, the Burchfield Penney Art Center, the Buffalo State College Art Conservation Lab and the Richardson Olmsted Complex (H.H. Richardson's State Psychiatric Center), open for the first time in a decade!
Trolley service will be provided to all venues and is included in the ticket price. This event is sponsored by M&T Bank and Preservation Buffalo Niagara.
Tickets: $25 in advance; $30 day of event. Purchase tickets online at www.P-B-N.org or at the Albright-Knox, Burchfield-Penney, or Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society.
Sunday, October 16 at 10a.m.
Enjoy interior home visits and hidden gardens and glimpse the unsurpassed view at Front Park in Buffalo's only historic lakefront community. See architecture from 1860 to 1955 and learn the rags to riches stories behind the Italian Americans who created the community known as "Doctor's Row." Enjoy refreshments (Italian of course) at one of our homes.
$20 ($15 for PBN members) To RSVP, click here.
Saturday, October 22 at 7p.m.
Join Lauren Belfer, the author of City of Light, for a private reception before her talk at Buffalo Seminary, her alma mater and the inspiration behind the Macaulay School for Girls in her historical novel City of Light. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be provided. Click here to reserve for $25 or call (716) 852-3300.
