Green Wednesdays at UB South
It's year six for UB on the Green, the annual summer performance-driven series at UB's South Campus, and it is greater than ever. While the first of three events took place last week, two more free outdoor performances are schedule for today. July 18, and next Wednesday, July 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Hayes Hall Lawn at the Main Street campus. This family-friendly event is a celebration of music, dance, and summer in the often undervalued University District.
Today's performers, Healing Hands Drum Journe, features members from America and Africa who perform traditional drum music from Mali and Senegal, modern Congolese music (N'dombolo), and even reggae from Jamaica. The group also features singers and dancers who share their culture through body movements and unique vocal styles. Next Wednesday features the renowned local jazz group Gruvology.
UB on the Green is one of many summer events happening on the South Campus; see UB's Community Blog for more.
Feel free to bring food and beverages to enjoy at this alcohol-free event. For more info, see the UB on the Green website.
