The sights of the Stiletto Run
Fashionable fundraising was the theme of the evening last Wednesday on Elmwood Avenue as hundreds of women and men alike ran, walked, and strutted their stuff during the fifth Annual 0.5K Stiletto Run, one of WNY's most offbeat and unique charity events.
Those wanting to participate in the official “run” portion of the event and be eligible to place had to sport a minimum three-inch heel with a maximum circumference of 1.25-inch diameter.
Attracting more than 400 participants, the event raised funds for the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. The organization works to place issues regarding ovarian cancer education and research on the agendas of national policy makers.
And while the fastest women in heels were certainly recognized, there were also prizes awarded for first place for the men and a best shoes category.
Here are a few images from the Stiletto Run, 2012 edition.
