It’s Earth Day weekend, so be sure to get outside—dodging a few raindrops if necessary—and enjoy spring’s return to Western New York. Although the Cherry Blossom Festival isn’t until next week, the trees are in bloom now, so check them out when you attend First Friday at the History Museum, one of our top picks.
M&T Third Fridays
In collaboration with M&T Bank, The Buffalo History Museum offers free admission all day. Docent-led tours start at 1 p.m., kids’ activities start at 3 and at 6 Walt Mayer, Director of Collections, offers an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the museum’s Resource Center, which houses all of its artifacts.

Fungi with a Fun Gal/ Earth Day Volunteer Open House

CBW 5th Anniversary Extravaganza and Huge Fun Party Time
Wow. Get a first look at the site of Community Beer Work’s next home; enjoy live music from 7 bands; taste a special anniversary brew as well as tacos from Lloyds; wine, cider, and cocktails from Dram Box; and just have fun at this day-long block party celebration.
