Junior League Derby Day

 May 5, 4:30–9 p.mat Barrel Factory, 65 Vandalia Street

This Derby Day fundraiser at the historic Barrel factory event space includes three-hour open bar, Southern-inspired cuisine, mint juleps, and a live viewing of the Kentucky Derby. It supports the mission of the Junior League of Buffalo.

Arts Services Initiative of WNY Spark Awards

May 10, 6–9 p.m. at Hotel Henry at the Richardson Complex, 444 Forest Avenue

Arts Services Initiative of WNY, an organization that supports and advocates for the arts, recognizes exemplary people from the arts community with their annual Spark Awards. Enjoy live performances, refreshments, a live art raffle, and the awards ceremony.

Lawyers for Learning 17th Annual Bowling Tournament

May 10, 6–8:30 p.m. at Airport Lanes, 3754 Genesee Street, Cheektowaga

Every year, this event successfully raises money to fund supplies and programs for Buffalo Public School 18. It also sponsors student trips to sleepaway camp at Camp Weona.

Hot Off The Press Happy Hour

May 23, 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Tacos, Community & Beer, 6449 Transit Rd., East Amherst

Mingle with the staff of Spree, meet people featured in the June issue, and get a free copy. Enjoy complimentary appetizers and drink tastes from Community Beer Works. This event is free and open to the public.




May 18, 5:30-9 p.m, at the Buffalo Zoo, 300 Parkside Avenue
