It’s fairly common these days for a music festival to pay lip service to a vaguely defined notion of “art” among its offerings, but seldom does the visual play as key a role as the auditory. At this nocturnal gathering roughly two hours southeast of Buffalo, spectacular and surreal light displays throughout the woods set the stage for all-night concerts by thirty bands, mostly of the jam variety. (Names you’ll likely recognize: Aqueous, Funktional Flow, Folkfaces, Lazlo Hollyfeld, Intrepid Travelers.) Camping is included in the admission price, and locally sourced food is available onsite.
