Zabinski at Meibohm

Artist, activist, and community organizer Tanya Zabinski has a delightful group of paper-cut works at Meibohm Fine Arts, November 24–December 22. The series is meant to accompany poetry (also by Zabinsky) and consists of seasonal imagery—like spring flowers, falling leaves, summer picnics, snowflakes, and more. What might sound cliched on the printed page is made utterly original through Zabinsky’s manipulation of her cut paper media. The stylized imagery uses simple, iconic forms to express the passing of time and the necessity to pause.
