Kateri Ewing plumbs the simple pleasures of nature

Beauty at hand

As a superb photographer and painter of the natural world, Kateri Ewing  has made the flora and fauna that surround her the repeated subjects of her art. Ewing regularly walks and photographs the woods, meadows, and waterways of Western New York, including Knox Farm State Park (which she advocated for) and wild sites in Wyoming County, using the photographs as resources for paintings. She is also an accomplished  poet.

Recent works on view at Meibohm Fine Arts employ watercolors as well as graphite and fine minerals. They’re on view  at Meibohm, September 27 through October 26, with an opening reception during East Aurora’s enjoyable fall gallery walk, September 27, 6–9 p.m.   meibohmfinearts.com.
