Live on Five

Buffalo Arts Studio, 7–11 p.m., 2495 Main Street

Buffalo Arts Studio is calling this “the perfect blend of Plates and Pasta and Trimania.” OK, we’ll buy that. Much like the first event, participants will be able to eat, drink, and buy art. Much like the second event, they can also wander around the entire fifth floor of the TriMain Center (believe us, that’s a lot of walking) and visit with all its denizens, including sculptors, potters, painters, filmmakers, and architects. Five-by-five-inch small works are offered for sale.

There will also be art-making demonstrations, live music, and multimedia performances. The cacophonous nature of this event lends itself to mixing, mingling, and meandering—and maybe even forgetting that an actual fundraiser is taking place. Not that we mind. Buffalo Arts Studio’s commitment to diversity, with exhibitions and programming that always surprise, is well worth supporting. The combo of interesting art and casual fun promised by this event is in keeping with the BAS vibe.
