A South African wine adventure
Julia Burke was a summer intern for us at Buffalo Spree; you may have seen some of her writing in the mag, or perhaps noticed that she was co-editor of our annual Performing Arts Guide. She did a wonderful job for us, and right now, is up to something that is extremely thrilling: she's spending several months working at a winery in South Africa.
As she puts it: "I'm obsessed with wine—drinking it, talking about it, and learning how to make it—and I've left my home in the Niagara Escarpment wine region of New York State to spend the 2010 vintage as an intern in South Africa. This is what I saw, who I met, what I learned, and what I drank."
I urge you to check out her blog, and keep up with her adventures. It's wonderful to see these sights and read these tales as snow falls in Amherst ...
