Barrel & Brine offers a variety of healthy, delicious items

After only a few years in its first location, Barrel + Brine’s popularity has outgrown its space. In June, B+B opened the doors of a new location on Chandler Street. The brainchild of husband and wife team RJ and Lindsey Marvin, Barrel + Brine started out dedicated strictly to pickle production. Over the following months, it slowly added a variety of items ranging from tonics, kombucha, vinegars, bloody mary mix, and sauerkraut. It wasn’t long until RJ, who has an extensive culinary background, started hosting pop-up menu days, servine his pickled sausage and kimchi fried rice. B+B’s following grew, often selling out at the farmers markets and stores that carry its products. Its new, larger location offers many varieties of jarred pickles as well as an extensive menu of pickled sausage, pickled eggs, BreadHive pretzels, bagels, and breads, and matzo ball soup in snack size portions. The menu includes pickle plates, bagels and schmeers, and The Classic: corned beef, housemade deli mustard, rye, and sour pickle. A flight of kombucha is the perfect accompaniment.
