Erin Habes' Don't Panic Gift Guide

Erin Habes' Don't Panic Gift Guide

If you’re like me, the "no snow" factor is messing with your head. I think it’s safe to say that most people are a little behind this year when it comes to checking every last gift off their lists. What are we waiting for? Mother Nature? The holiday season is HERE and if you’ve just started shopping the best thing to do is to stay calm and think logically.

At this point in the game, it’s important to stay focused and shop boutiques that offer a good variety of gift-appropriate items. Stores like Spoiled Rotten, Everything Elmwood, Neo, and room offer something for everyone. You could kill two, three, or even four birds with one stone.

Why not give the gift that keeps on giving? Tickets to see their favorite music artist, comedian, theater, or better yet—Baldwin? We all love some Baldwin and we’re just hoping he makes it to Buffalo in January. But if tickets to see a live performance aren't the right fit, remember that this season's gift giving is about thinking outside the box. If your loved one has wanted to take cooking lessons, Delish is your answer. Maybe screen-printing classes are an option? Western New York Book Arts offers a typography of a good time.

Santa is checking his list for who’s naughty or nice and I’m guessing all the fashion divas know where they fall. They’re praying that Santa can hear their cries for Navajo cozy sweaters from Anna Grace, designer pieces from Sweet and Chic, ADAM, or a handmade party dress by anatomy ... the list could go on and on. If you’re on the hunt for that fashionista on your list, check out some of our local boutiques for those extra special hidden treasures.

The time crunch is on. Hit the streets of Buffalo with a list in hand, be creative, and scour the city. Below  in our slideshow are some foolproof gifting ideas. Remember, it’s all about showing local love and taking advantage of free gift wrapping!

Happy Holidays!
