Spree Style with Erin Habes: Fall in love with fall
Hey, all of you fall fashion lovers! The weather has finally turned and now it’s time to bust out your besties from last season and update them with a few new fall favorites. Cozy up to your tweeds, leather, corduroy, denim, and knits for a lush menu that will get your creative juices flowing.
At the start of the season, take inventory of what you have for stylish staples, and pick a few fall trends that will spruce up your look. Keep it long, lean, and layered with the midi and maxi length, a staple silhouette from summer that isn’t going anywhere.
If structure is more your cup of tea, clean lines and strong tactile accents will surely please the crowd. When in doubt add a cape to your list, a striking shape, and an easy way of freshening up your style.
Get your fall on by taking note of the following tips (photos courtesy of style.com)!
A little bit of leather
Sleek leather skirts and accents complement soft causal fabrics adding a little bit of toughness to your chic look. (Rachel Comey)
Lead the troops like Phyllis Nefler from Troop Beverly Hills this fall, the cape or poncho is the perfect topper. (Karen Walker)
If artists can be blue, so can we. Electrify your wardrobe this fall with ultramarine. (3.1 Phillip Lim)
Hemlines are long this season, but take advantage of the mid length to show off your ankle boots and penny loafer heels! (Marc by Marc Jacobs)
Slouchy, belted, cozy and chunky, oversized or shrunken sweaters are a key fall item for that chilly transition into the cool months. (zero + marai cornejo)
