New wallpaper firm builds on Burchfield’s legacy
Red disk ready to sell wallpaper
Flowers at Night: This design was created by Charles Burchfield circa 1921.
Red disk started with one mission: find a way to bring artist Charles Burchfield’s 1920s-era wallpaper designs for the Birge company back to life and make them available in the marketplace. Western New Yorkers were first exposed to this exciting project as part of the 2017 Decorator’s Show House. Now, the company has launched its website and is ready to sell wallpaper, with designs by artists Cassandra Ott and Karen Matchette, as well as vintage Burchfield patterns. Co-founder Tracy Ackerman is thankful for the support of the Burchfield Penney Art Center, which is primarily responsible for making this possible. Visit reddiskstudio.com for more information.
