Slipper sliding away
I’m a barefoot freak; I like the feel of hard wood, clean ceramic, and deep pile beneath my soles. So, of course I live in a houseful of slipper fanatics. I guess that makes me a lucky girl. I mean, ‘round here slippers are anything but a cliché holiday gift. But still, I don’t always feel so lucky when it comes to finding styles good looking enough to guarantee that their respective owners won’t toss them about like dirty socks.
Hurrah for Ugg, then, for coming up with its shearling-lined pompom slipper (top). I’m not a huge fan of the ubiquitous boot. I’m actually the complete opposite of a huge fan. But these slippers look cozy, demure, and warm, and if you are caught outside with them on, no shame. For him, Cole Haan (above) also goes shearling with a faux alligator leather outside that any man can wear—any man except for the guy who prefers the pair his mom got him twelve years ago and are held together with duct tape. For that kind of slipper fanatic (and I actually know one), therapy might be a better present.

I have those fleece-lined Crocs for slippers in the winter, and I wear flip flops in the summer.
