The weekend in movies 3/19
The Bounty Hunter
Playing at Maple Ridge; Market Arcade Dipson; Elmwood, Transit, Galleria, Quaker, Hollywood Regals; Flix
Hollywood's newest attempt at combining the cookie-cutter rom/com with a quasi-action crime thriller. Some supporting roles hit their mark, but the laughs are few and far between.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Playing at Maple Ridge; Market Arcade Dipson; McKinley Mall Dipson; Elmwood, Transit, Galleria, Hollywood Regals; Flix
A live-action adaptation of Jeff Kinney's illustrated novel of the same name, I must have been asked by a handful of people in the past week whether I had seen trailers for it and what I thought. Truthfully, it looks like an endearing children's film and nothing more, but everyone seems to really want to see it. So, if you go, comment back on whether its worth a visit.
The Ghost Writer
Playing at Amherst Dipson & Eastern Hills Dipson
Roman Polanski's newest mystery thriller, The Ghost Writer, finally makes its way to Buffalo. Personally, I'm going to see it Saturday afternoon to see if the hype is warranted. It's not that I didn't enjoy The Pianist and Oliver Twist—they are great films—I just enjoy the Chinatown/Ninth Gate Roman better.
Repo Men
Playing at Maple Ridge; Market Arcade Dipson; Elmwood, Transit, Galleria, Quaker, Hollywood Regals; Flix
A serious dramatic take on the subject also used in Repo! The Genetic Opera—that of artificial organs being claimed once payments lapse—word on the street says this thing is much bloodier and darker than the trailers are allowed to show. You can't go wrong with Whitaker, Law, and Schreiber, so count me excited to see what happens when the company you work for—and who gave you the artificial heart that's keeping you alive—comes collecting.
