Two rolls apiece with miso soup on the side qualifies this as a budget date, but there’s also the option to order octopus, eel, wasabi fish eggs, and all the other wonders of the sea and earth from Chef Kuni Sato. Kuni’s also boasts one of the few serious sake programs in the city, so take this opportunity to ask your server to recommend something; you can’t go wrong with this well-chosen list. Sit at the bar and watch Kuni work, or eat outside and show off your chopstick-sashimi-delivery skills to your date and the world.
