Erie County DPW-EMS Day

Date/Time

May 18, 2019
12:00 PM until 03:00 PM

Description

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, Erie County Department of Public Works Bill Geary and EMS Deputy Commissioner Greg Gill have teamed up to present: DPW+EMS Day on May 18 from 12 – 3 p.m.!

Erie County’s fleet of vehicles can often be overwhelming and loud to sensitive ears. We want to make sure that we include everyone in this free, fun event. If your child has a disability or a quieter atmosphere is desired, please join us from 11 – 11:45 a.m. for a special quiet time.

Explore trucks, heavy equipment, fire trucks and other vehicles you've always wanted to “play” with up close! All ages are welcome to participate in this fun, free event that provides an up-close experience for children to sit and climb on County trucks and equipment typically seen from far away! Staff members will be on hand to answer questions and give out printed materials and other special surprises!

Other activities include: safety demonstrations, food trucks and a car seat check. Come join us for DPW+EMS Day! We will have:

  • -Over 30 vehicles, including fire trucks, EMS and some of our larger DPW vehicles
  • -Food trucks (at cost)
  • -Family-friendly activities
  • -Safety demonstrations
  • -Children's books from the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library - Central Library.
