We kindly invite you to the Opening Reception of Ed Vendetti / Silver Project on Thursday, 15 August, from 6-9pm, at Pastry by Camille, 1416 Hertel Ave, Buffalo.
The series, begun in 2009, is an ongoing body of work that utilizes napkins used to erase the menu board at his son's restaurant, oil and acrylic paint, and incorporates silver into each piece. The series is an exploration of abstract concepts that uses reflection in different ways. The metallic qualities catch the light and add a dynamic element to each piece.
A practical joker and fan of Frank Sinatra karaoke, Vendetti graduated with a BA in Fine Arts from Syracuse University in 1956. He was a creative director for over thirty years, most notably at the Buffalo advertising agency Levy King & White Cos. Inc. He is originally from Utica, NY where he used to teach art to 5th through 8th graders at Conkling School for $85 per week.
Vendetti has been exhibited at Birchfield Penney Art Center, Buffalo and is in the collection of the Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute, Utica, NY.
We are proud to host these works by such a well-deserving and under exhibited artist. Vendetti hopes too that you will enjoy the exhibit and that it will give you some pleasure!
