Buffalo State is hosting a unique exhibition that features the artwork of 60 Buffalo State alumni spanning seven decades — the 1950s to today.
“Buffalo State Alumni Artists: Works from the Gerald Mead Collection” opens January 29 and runs through February 15 in the Czurles-Nelson Gallery in Upton Hall. The media consists of painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, graphic design, fiber, wood, ceramic and metal.
Many of the artists have achieved international, national or significant regional reputations and are represented in major museum collections across the world from the Smithsonian to the Vatican, said Mead, an artist, independent curator, and lecturer in Buffalo State’s Art and Design Department.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and admission is free. A public reception will be held on Tuesday, February 13, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
