Description

APRIL 5, 2019

BUFFALO — Last spring, many of Western New York’s most powerful women gathered for a new conference: “Transformational Leadership: Women in Power.” The networking event was so popular that it sold out, and many of the women in attendance —and many others who were unable to attend — have waited to see when another such conference would be held.

Their long wait is over.

On Saturday, April 27, the “Transformational Leadership” series returns with a new focus: “Professional Bravery – Define and Achieve Your Goals.” As with last year’s event, the conference will bring together leaders in business, medicine, law, and education for a day of presentations, dialogue, and breakout sessions that are rich with insight and guidance from women who are leaders for those who are, and aspire to be, leaders.

Attorney Lisa A. Coppola, founder of The Coppola firm, will discuss creating “The Strategic Plan.” Ursuline R. Bankhead, Ph.D., an area psychologist and implicit bias consultant, will discuss “Understanding Your Inner Script.”

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion of the event theme. The panelists are:

  • Danielle Bergman, assistant director, Veteran Affairs WNY Healthcare System
  • Elizabeth Dexter, M.D., thoracic surgeon, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center
  • Mary Holler, vice president and chief information officer, Integer Holdings Corp.
  • Katie Krawczyk, chief executive officer, 19 Ideas
  • Althea Luehersen, chief executive officer, Leadership Buffalo
  • Bridget Niland, director of Project Play WNY, Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo
  • Kathleen Sweet, attorney and partner, Gibson McAskill & Crosby

Breakout sessions will follow, to encourage further discussion of the themes and issues explored during the presentations and panel discussion.

The conference will be held April 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Canisius College Science Building, 1901 Main Street in Buffalo. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Tickets are $35, or $10 for students.
