Hot 5: The 2012 Buffalo Infringement Festival
Perhaps the website for the Buffalo Infringement Festival best summarizes what makes this wildly diverse mix of music, art, theater, comedy, and just about anything else one could think of so unique: “exciting art can happen anywhere, anytime, without a blockbuster budget.” As of press time, the 2012 schedule has not been posted, but if previous years are any indication, it’s sure to enchant. As Spree put it upon giving Infringement a 2009 Best Of award for “arts bargain”: “Do the math: over 300 events by local and international theater companies, musicians, artists, writers, and pyrotechnicians in eleven days, none costing more than ten bucks and the majority completely free.” Sold.
