Hot 5: Buffalo Brewfest

March saw Spree’s first-ever beer issue, and it demonstrated the area’s rich, frothy history of making, enjoying, and serving brewskis. Keep the good times flowing with a summer favorite, as Buffalo Brewfest returns to HSBC Arena on August 5. With more than 100 different kinds available, you’re sure to find something new, whether your fave is a stout, an IPA or a pils. Expect two packed floors of brewer stations—with even more outside—plus raffles, giveaways, live music by the Black Widow Band, and more. And of course, it’s for a great cause, as proceeds benefit Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center Foundation (as well as the New York State Brewers Association). Be warned: tickets go fast.

5:30–9:30 p.m. on Friday, August 5, at HSBC Arena, One Seymour H. Knox III Plaza; www.buffalobrewfest.com.
