Hot 5: Chalk Walk Competition

The forty-five-year-old Lewiston Art Festival always has its share of highlights, and no doubt one of 2011’s will be the twenty-seventh annual KeyBank Chalk Walk Competition. Prepare for wild artistic treats, as teams of talented young artists take on the theme of “Chalk one up for diversity” and create murals and compete for awards, trophies, and bragging rights. And in a neat twist, the competition is asking participants to create a movie poster for a fictitious film titled Under One Sun.

Noon–4 p.m. on Saturday, August 13 at the Lewiston Art Festival, Lewiston; 754-0166 or www.artcouncil.org.
