Hot 5: Gerald Mead at Castellani Art Museum

The Castellani Art Museum at Niagara University features a Spree favorite this month: frequent contributor Gerald Mead. An artist, writer, educator, and arts patron, Mead also has an impressive collection of works by WNY artists, including some very prominent names. At the latest installment of the “Meet Me at the CAM” series on March 3, titled “The Art of Collecting Art,” Mead will talk about becoming an art collector, and will introduce the exhibition Public/Private: Pairings with the Gerald Mead Collection, which juxtaposes works from Mead’s holdings with pieces from the Castellani collection. He’ll also lead a special members’ preview tour. An opening reception for the show will be held 2–4 p.m. on March 6.
