Hot 5: Muster in the Meadow

A new tradition began last year at Forest Lawn Cemetery: Muster in the Meadow. The event commemorating the Civil War was a daylong mix of historical education and celebration, and the second go-round, scheduled for May 29, looks to be as strong as last year’s. Starting at 10 a.m. and running through 5 p.m., Muster features Union and Confederate encampments, re-enactors, tributes, a parade, historical exhibits, demonstrations, food, and more. And it’s all free, making it ideal family fare just in time for Memorial Day. Plus, free parking and shuttle service is available from Canisius College.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1411 Delaware Ave.; www.forest-lawn.com.
