Style: Dressing up to Code

It’s back to reality. School is officially in session, which means the return of homework, band practice, football tryouts, ballet, drama club, and clothing dilemmas. Often the root of many a school morning argument for most parents and children, the echo of “back to school” summons combatants to the battlefield over which fall trends will make it into kids’ closets and down the school hallway.
Riding a fine line, school administrators perennially brace themselves for the latest fashions or trends, praying they fit within their school dress code standards. Sweet Home High School administrators have recently taken action to toughen their list of fashion dos and don’ts in the classroom with a cool and creative way of instructing the students on proper school attire. Parents and students alike are now given a dress code pamphlet (much like a fashion industry “look book”) that outlines what’s acceptable.
In this story, we’ve featured some Sweet Home High School students who are also the school’s 2012 style syllabus models. They’re showcasing what and what not to wear in the hallowed halls, as well as some of the best back to school fall fashions, in the accompanying slide show below.
