Many Spree readers can remember the days when Northern Italian was about as exotic as it got in Buffalo. Chinese food meant a trip over the border. Indian food meant a trip to Manhattan. Vietnamese food meant a trip to Vietnam.
Those days are long behind us. Thanks to a large population of international students, successful restaurant start-ups by recent immigrants/refugees, and the increasing sophistication of Western New York diners, there are far more restaurants featuring the food of faraway places than we could cover in one feature. Consider this collection of a dozen international eateries as just a taste, one that we hope will encourage and inspire adventurous eaters.
