This event occurs weekly, on Thursday.
Expression and Creativity Experimental Learning Laboratory (Ex.C.E.L.L.), made up of teaching artists Dr.Tiffany Du Mouchelle and Leanne Darling will present a series of eight evening workshops open to the general public, occurring once a week from January through March 2020 on Thursday evenings from 6:00pm-7:30pm at the West Side Community Services Community Center on 161 Vermont St in Buffalo
The workshops will focus on connecting with each individual's inner creative artist and helping that artist find their voice. In each session Du Mouchelle and Darling will facilitate exercises using dance, music, theater, visual art, and writing that encourage creative expression. Using mindfulness, body work, visualization practices, and creative experimentation, they will teach ways to identify blocks, trust one’s inner creative and gain techniques to empower artistic identity in a fun and supportive environment.
The workshops are valuable for those who are active in the arts, those who dream about becoming artists, people who are interested in being more creative and in tune with their desires, those who have difficulty speaking up for themselves or identifying what they want, and many more.
The eight workshop sessions will have four themes: identifying creative blocks, trusting one’s inner creative, empowering creativity and integrating creative practice into one’s life.
