Located in the east side area known as "Polonia," St. Luke's Church was home to thousands of Polish immigrant families. The current church was erected in 1928-1930 in the Basilican Italian Romanesque style and could accommodate 1,050 parishioners. Visitors will view many beautiful works of art inside the church, all gilded with gold leaf to create a "shimmer" by artist Jan Henryk deRosen. Also on display is de Rosen's 6,000 tile mosaic depicting the Annunciation, Passion of Christ, Mother of Mercy and Divine Mercy.
