From The Editor A few issues ago, we promised that Buffalo Spree would be more visibly involved in the Western New York community and I’m now proud to report that this promise is being fulfilled. Spree and David Laurence Publications have a few public appearances and sponsorships in the works, including: • A booth at Plantasia, the always-inspiring gardening and landscaping exposition, to be held March 31-April 3 at the Hamburg Agricultural Center (at the fairgounds). In between stopping and smelling the roses, we invite you stop by the Spree booth for a treat and a chat with our marketing director, Lori Johnson. • Media sponsorship of the American Heart Association’s 2005 Go Red for Women campaign. You’ll be seeing the Spree and Forever Young logos on the Go Red billboards and other advertisements, as well as articles in Spree and Forever Young about ways for women to battle heart disease. As many of you know, stroke and heart attacks, traditionally thought of as health risks for men, are the number one killers of women as well. • Another appearance at the Allentown Art Festival’s Allen West in June. • A Spree Reading Room in the Junior League’s Decorators’ Show House 2005. This biannual event, presented by the Junior League in collaboraton with the Buffalo News, is always very popular, and raises a large sum of money for the Junior League’s charitable efforts. Spree has always been happy to report on the Show House; this year, we’re a small part of it. Look for our Reading Room when the Show House opens to the public April 30 through May 22. While you’re waiting, you can read Barry Muskat’s excellent article on the project. This month’s Spree is a big magazineover 260 pages. We hope you’ll be able to peruse all the entertaining and informational Home Design features we’re offering as well as our regular coverage of the Western New York scene. Stay warm
