From the Editor

If you are a subscriber, you have just received one of the best subscription perks Spree offers: our Performing Arts Guide for the 2005-2006 season. Although we always suggest calling ahead in case of cancellations, this complete listing of all the available theater, dance, and concert schedules we could find will help you live life to its fullest in Western New York. Please take advantage of these glorious offerings; the hard-working cultural organizations of the area need and deserve your support. And thank you Lydia Beebe and Gabrielle Grubka, the Spree interns who put the Guide together.

What else are we excited about? How to begin? First, there’s the Spree Blog, located at www.spreeblog.com. We’re not exactly sure how our first-ever blog will develop—that’s the beauty of blogs—but we hope you’ll be a part of it, visiting often to comment and read posts from our writers and staff.

Then, we have our usual lineup of Spree events. Don’t miss our third collaborative party with the Burchfield-Penney Art Center: Nightmare on Elmwood, Friday, Oct. 28, 5:30-8:30 p.m. After that, check out our Health, Fitness, & Travel Expo, Oct. 22-23 at the Walden Galleria. Watch also for the publication of our Fall/Winter Buffalo Spree City Guide, due out in October.

Yes, the summer was hot—and it looks like the fall will be even hotter!
