From the Editor What’s new besides the year? Plenty, as far as Buffalo Spree is concerned. For one thing, we have a new corporate title: Buffalo Spree Publishing, Inc. This name better reflects the reason our company got started: the purchase of Buffalo Spree magazine in 1998. While we also publish two city guides, our Forever Young fifty-plus monthly, a performing arts guide, a shopping guide, and seventeen playbills, Buffalo Spree is still our flagship publication and we felt our name should reflect that. Now it does. What else is new? We have an exciting line-up of special issues and promotions coming up in 2006. Look for a “Best Of” issue in May/June that will be accompanied by an awards reception and judged by a professional panel as well as a reader poll. We also have an architecture issue coming in July/August; we hope it will cover local architecture in much the same way our music issue covered local sounds. Just as in this issue we present Castle Connolly’s peer-chosen list of top docs, we plan to bring you Western New York’s top lawyers and top dentists later in the year. These features are a regular part of how city magazines nationwide serve their readership. And have you checked out our blog? Spree writers are adding new content to this daily: www.spreeblog.com As the year continues, expect more special events and promotions and more on-line features, as well as the useful information we always provide in our content-packed issues of Buffalo Spree. Best as always,
