From the Editor Many thanks to all the readers who participated in our Best Of poll. Given the extremely short period of time we gave you to get your ballots in (barely three weeks) we are very pleased with the number of responses we received. We’ll give you more time next year, we promise! Keep in mind that your answers were combined with the opinions of three consulting panels. Each panel met for six hours total to discuss their choices for the various categories, then their choices were compared with what the readers had picked. Rather surprisingly, there was quite a bit of agreement. Click here to see the over 220 “best ofs” you and our panels chose. This was our first serious “Best Of” issue, so it is appropriate that the cover represents another first: our first cover created especially for us by an internationally famous artist. We are very honored that our May/June cover has been designed by Peter Max. You’ll notice a picture of Max and his Buffalo-born wife Mary as part of the design.
