Thanks to everyone who made July’s Spree architecture party a great success. The evening was beautiful and the Butler Mansion (Jacobs Executive Center) even more so. See the “Who was There” section for images of this wonderful event, which benefited the Landmark Society. I must especially thank our event planners extraordinaire, Production Director Jade Chen and Marketing Director Lori Johnson, as well as Spree Architcture critic Barry A. Muskat, who helped plan the issue.

So much for last issue. We are equally excited about the contents of this issue, with its triple focus on Elmwood Avenue, Western New York women, and the new arts season. Subscribers are also receiving our Performing Arts Guide, whch covers the entire 2006-07 season. This issue will be arriving in homes at about the time of the Elmwood Arts Festival on August 26-27; look for a Spree table at this much-anticipated summer event. You’ll also be seeing Buffalo Spree Publishing at Curtain Up! on September 29 (location to be announced; check our website) and the Galleria Mall, during our Forever Young Expo on October 20-21. Finally, as a year-long media sponsor of programming at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center, we hope to be participating in many of their exhibition openings and events. Fall—always a busy time. We hope you enjoy it!
