Pancakes and Maple Syrup

There are over 2,000 maple sugarmakers in New York, and the state is home to the largest number of tappable maple trees in the US. While we come second to Vermont in annual syrup production, the tradition of tapping and producing maple syrup is an integral part of our collective history

Each year, the New York State Maple Association celebrates maple season in March, when the weather is most conducive to tree tapping. Maple Weekends are an excellent time to explore the rural parts of our region, not just to buy syrup or see sugaring first-hand, but also to soak up some later winter/early spring sunshine and enjoy a hearty pancake breakfast.

With that in mind, we’ve collected a list of great spots to stop in for maple-drizzled flapjacks. We’ve also labeled them with their distance from downtown so you can plan accordingly. Find additional resources on the NY Maple Weekend website, mapleweekend.nysmaple.com.

2023’s Maple Weekends are March 18 - 19 and March 25 - 26. Prices per pancake breakfast vary by location.
