A statue of nikola Tesla, the inventor of alternating current (and much more) was placed downtown in September; its site at Main and North Division Streets was then designated Nikola Tesla Park. That’s not enough for the Buffalo Niagara Nikola Tesla Council (BNNTC), which wants to add a stainless steel symbolic representation of the inventor’s signature Tesla Coil (coil and proposed statue shown above). Tesla Coil technology was integral in all early radio and television receivers. A proposal was before the Buffalo Arts Commission at press time.
